The new E18R EDC LED flashlight comes with a magnetic charging cable for quick charging. Plugin the USB charging cable into the power source and hold the end of the magnetic charging cable near the flashlight. The charging cable automatically attaches to the charging port, and it starts to charge the battery. If you keep the flashlight for a long time without use, recharge it every four months. You can still use the flashlight while it is charging, but the charging time takes longer.
Understanding the proper use and maintenance of your rechargeable led flashlight helps you get the most from it. It is not recommended to remove the sealed head. Doing that can make void your warranty or damage the light. Fenix also recommends using high-quality batteries for better performance. If you don't plan to use the flashlight for long periods of time, store it without the battery. This prevents damages to the E18R and to the battery. During storage and transportation, lock the light or remove the battery to ensure no accidental activation. You should also remember to charge the battery every four months to its high performance. Replace your O-ring when it is worn out to maintain its waterproof abilities. When the battery contacts get dirty, clean them periodically to maintain better illumination.
The Fenix E18R is best powered by one Fenix ARB-L16-700P Li-ion battery or a CR123A Lithium battery.
