Skilhunt H04 RC / H04R RC USB Rechargeable Headlamp

Perfect light for around the house or the campsite. Either magnetic charge or swapping batteries works great. The 3000K is good for reading at night and the low modes don’t wake anyone up. Highly recommend!

First time entering mining and caving exploration. Was told to get a skilhunt headlamp. Just an excellent quality of this convince me to buy another with a lot of extra batteries. Went to lava tubes this past weekend. The whole team was wearing skilhunt. Looking forward to the next adventure with this by my side. 🤙🏼

I own a few high-performance flashlights at this time so I was looking for some really specific things in this light and I'm happy to report that it's wonderful in every way. I'm also pleasantly surprised that it's not very heavy when worn as a headlamp and that the headband strap is fabulous.

From the distribution of the light beam, the color temperature & CRI, the magnetic tail cap, excellent pocket clip, the magnetic charging, fantastic headband, and the customizable interface this light is great. If you're considering it you should just get it.

I bought this to rotate for edc between my Streamloght protac 2l. I couldn’t be more impressed switching from 5 inches to 4. You can show all your friends, your wife, and all her friends and they’ll all be amazed at what just 4 inches can do!

I wanted this light specifically for the right-angle head so I could put it in a belt pouch where the head pointed forward and I could use it to illuminate dark hallways while keeping my hands free. It works great for that so I'm happy.

This light is great at what it does (right angle head with a flood beam), with the trad-off that the right angle head isn't ergonomic for carrying in the hand. Between the ergonomics and the flood beam, it is ideal for hands free operation to see what's in front of you (be it mounted on your head, belt, or just set down on something). It's not ideal for anything where the light would be in your hand (which you generally wouldn't want a flood for anyway).

Other Notes:
- The included clip is maybe okay for a pocket, but was too tight for going on sturdy belt.
- The UI is good but takes getting used to. The locking mode with optional "find in the dark" red blinking is clever.
- Tail cap magnet isn't super strong. It will hold the light at a right angle when stuck to a fridge, but not the thinner metal used for drywall right angles.

Had the old one with Samsung emitter and used it daily until it got lost/stolen. This one is an upgrade in every way. Much nicer beam. It’s light enough that I don’t use the additional strap over the top of my head. Very comfortable, I forget to take it off sometimes because I forget it’s even on my head

We pressure wash commercial properties at night, we finally landed on this headlamp as our unit of choice.

This light is perfect, our typical focus is 5ft to 10ft away and this light works great for that. It’s also great for really close up work when trying to make repairs to equipment. We hardly need turbo mode but it does come in handy when needed.

Never wrote a review for a product before but this flashlight puts everything else to shame. Once you get your head wrapped around the settings/ how to work it, its invaluable. Especially in mines or lift stations (which never have working bathroom lights)

I had some li-ion cells kicking around and wanted to put them to use. I did a ton of research on right-angle flashlights and this model checked a lot of boxes at a great price.

Also killzoneflashlights came highly recommended by many of the forums I was reading reviews on so I decided to purchase from them and glad I did.

So far it's been great.

I'm a plumber and wanted a good lightweight headlamp that has a battery that will last all day. So far this headlamp has surpassed my expectations, highly recommended

The emitter is very pleasing to the eyes while giving great color rendering. It also has a great amount of spill underneath a car on jack stands. The UI is pretty simple and easy to remember and has access to moonlight from the standard mode with 2H input on either mode.

The included headband works well even without the center strap, as long as you're not moving around too much. From my limited use, the center strap is needed for more active activities to prevent fatigue/ pain.

I don't mind the right-angle beam offset because the floody beam illuminates things pretty well about arm's length away, but I can see why some people might not like it. It really depends on user preference and intent.

Overall, I really like this light and see why people recommend it as a staple headlamp. The price may seem a little steep but with the pleasing color temperature and great headband, it's well worth it for me for a work lamp and as a flashlight enthusiast looking to add to their collection.

No frills, easy to use headlamp with great tint and CRI (I got the 519A 4500K version). I don’t use the magnetic charging but it’s nice to have as an option, I guess. The headband is by far the best on the market.

Thought the menu would be cumbersome but it is intuitive.

I have a Milwaukee headlamp that is quite bright but that burns through batteries. I hoped to find a good alternative that has a rechargeable battery, but this was not it. I should have looked at the lumen ratings, of course, but this was not the light for me despite the high ratings.

Lost my YLP panda CRI to a sneaky maint tech at our building and bought the skilhunt based on reddit reviews and prior experience with the excellent M150. Bests all the other headlamps ive tried. Took a minute to get over the price but soon as i tried it the first night at work i forgot the price.

I was looking for something small with a soft, wide beam to use when working on my cars. I was worried this would put out too narrow of a beam, but it's actually perfect.

Very happy with my product. I am an electrician, so this works great locations without light. Battery holds a charge for a long time and light is very bright with multiple modes.

I do historic preservation / restoration work for a living and bought this light to use as a task light, as I was doing a lot of work in dimly lit old buildings and was very drawn to the dual headlamp / handheld design. This is an excellent little light; the UI is very easy to get the hang of, the build quality is excellent (within the first week I dropped it off a scaffold from 30ft up onto hard stone with barely a scratch) and the light the Nichia 519A produces is beautifully diffused and neutral, with a good range of brightness modes for different situations. The headband it comes with is probably the best I've used and, unlike other brands, can accommodate the light with the belt clip installed. Highly recommended for use as a worklight, especially for up close tasks or general area flooding.

I researched a bit on flashlight forums before deciding on this Nichia 519A/4500k version. Was mentioned by many… with a good combination of features and apparently one of the best headbands. I originally wanted ramping ability (Anduril UI) and considered both the Lumintop HL3A as well as the Emisar DW4… the Armytek Nichia warm version was also in the running, as was the Zebralights… but in the end decided to listen to the online folks based on my intended use. Important to me was the high CRI/warmer CCT, and as a package, not overly heavy. CCT worked out even better than expected as 4500k was still too high, but I was able to dedome the LED (easily done with a steady hand) which got it down to about 3600k with an even nicer tint, perfect for me.

In the short time I’ve had it, found myself using it often, not just outdoors but for any detailed close-up work indoors. Very handy to have ).

I've only had the light for a couple weeks, but I've had to use it almost every day. It's one of those things you don't know you've been missing until you have it. Incredibly bright with long run times, even on higher settings. The headband is the best of the best. The ability to quickly remove the light from the band and replace it when needed is great.

Overall I really like the H04 RC. It has a long battery life and gives a nice soft area light. Color accuracy with the Nichia 519A is also amazing. It's great for up close work, dog walking, or reading. However, I was a bit disappointed in the lack of throw. The TIR lens give a bright and even flood, but I hadn't considered just how short range this light would be. I'm not deducting stars from the review though. This was my error, not an issue with the light. I should have purchased the H04F RC, which has a hinged TIR lens so you can switch between spot and flood modes easily. That'll be going on my wish list.

So, it's a great light, but make sure you purchase the correct sub-model. Skilhunt is great at making options available, but that also means the customer needs to know which options they actually require to get the best tool for the job.

This is a monster of a flashlight! Small enough to keep handy yet bright enough to be incredibly useful. It is also tough and engineered perfectly.

I've found this to be a great tool. The head strap is great and the color quality with the 519A is top-notch. It's a bit less bright at its maximum setting than I was expecting, but that just means it runs for a good long time. I've taken this out on my nightly runs and it has been able to keep a healthy charge over several days of extended use.
